Trail Description

Name: Clark Fork
Round trip: 5.5 mi
Difficulty: mostly easy
Start Elev: 6450'
Elev Change: +500'
Map: USFS Disaster Peak Quadrangle 489-2

This is a well maintained trail that follows along the Clark Fork river from Iceberg Meadow to Boulder Creek. There is a 150' climb via switchbacks leaving Iceberg Meadow, but otherwise the grade is fairly easy. At the Boulder Creek junction you can either continue on to Clark Fork Meadow (5 mi) or go up the Boulder Creek trail to Boulder Lake (1.5 mi). The flower survey ends at the Boulder Creek junction (marked with a signed post). Early in the season Iceberg Meadow has many Water Plantain Buttercups, otherwise the flowers are typical of a mixed conifer forest. (A small group of Alaska Rein Orchid might be found near an always flowing creek crossing).
